The cloth binding with its intricate green and gilt botanical design is still vibrant after 120 years—a lovely piece for any collection of Southern folklore. Arrived well-packaged and exactly as described.

The Herford illustrations are just as charming as I hoped, and the cloth binding with its green and gilt stamping is in far better condition than most books this age. I've been hunting for a decent copy for years, and this one's tight pages made my day.

The gilt stamping on the beige cloth is even more beautiful in person, and the illustrations by Oliver Herford are a perfect match for Harris’s storytelling. I’ve been hunting for a clean copy of this edition for a while, and this one exceeded my expectations.
