ガボのそり

The way the neighbors slowly gather around Gabo through the illustrations really captures that feeling of a small town wrapping its arms around you. My kid asked for it three nights in a row, and each time we noticed a new detail in the background.

The way the illustrations capture both the snowy streets and the warmth inside the community made me tear up a little. My kid kept pointing at Gabo’s face, and the story’s gentle rhythm held her attention from start to finish.

I read this to my 5-year-old three times in a row last night, and he kept pointing out the details in the snowy neighborhood illustrations. It’s such a gentle, warm story about finding community after a move, and the way the boy’s small kindnesses are repaid feels genuine.
