My daughter loved how relatable Olive’s worries about the school policy felt—it sparked a great conversation about fairness. The field trip plot kept her turning pages, and she finished it in two sittings.

My sixth grader flew through this book in two sittings—she kept talking about how realistic the friendship drama felt. The field trip storyline really hooked her, and she immediately asked if there’s a sequel.

I picked this up for my daughter who's anxious about starting middle school, and she was hooked from the first page about the field trip drama. The way it tackles real social issues like exclusion feels honest without being preachy. Already ordered the next one in the series.
