My kid giggles every single time Piggie panics about the rain, and the dialogue is so snappy that we’ve read it four times tonight already. The hardcover feels sturdy enough for repeated bedtime drops, and the simple words are perfect for my early reader to try on her own.

The rainy-day twist actually got my three-year-old predicting what would happen next, which is rare for him with books. The dialogue is so snappy that even a reluctant reader can’t help but want to act it out with a friend.

My kid giggles out loud every time we read this one, especially when Piggie gets all dramatic about the rain. The back-and-forth dialogue is so easy for a beginning reader to follow, and the ending genuinely surprised us both.
