The mix of verse, prose, and actual comic panels made me feel like I was reading three stories at once, and it kept the pages turning fast. My kid who usually hates reading actually finished it in two sittings.

The way the story shifts between verse and prose actually made the pacing fly by—I finished it in one sitting. It’s a raw, honest look at skipping school that doesn’t sugarcoat the consequences, and the comic sections break up the heavier moments perfectly.

I love how this book mixes verse, prose, and comics—kept my kid flipping pages all afternoon. The story about three friends skipping school felt real and relatable.
