Once upon a time . . . fairy tales were awesome

In this mischievous and utterly original debut, Hansel and Gretel walk out of their own story and into eight other classic Grimm-inspired tales. As readers follow the siblings through a forest brimming with menacing foes, they learn the true story behind (and beyond) the bread crumbs, edible houses, and outwitted witches.

Fairy tales have never been more irreverent or subversive as Hansel and Gretel learn to take charge of their destinies and become the clever architects of their own happily ever after.

Didn't expect the signed copy to actually have a real signature on the title page, that was a nice surprise. Hansel and Gretel wandering into eight other Grimm tales makes it feel fresh even though I grew up on these stories. Read it in one sitting.

Claire ★★★★★

My kid tore through this in two nights, which never happens. The way Hansel and Gretel wander into eight other Grimm tales keeps every chapter feeling like a new story, and the author's signature on the title page made it feel like a real keepsake.

Eva ★★★★★

The signed copy is such a nice touch for the shelf, and the way Hansel and Gretel wander into eight other Grimm tales makes it feel like a whole new story every chapter. My oldest has already claimed it as hers.
