TWAIN, Mark. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Hartford CT: The American Publishing Company, 1899. 8vo, 275pp. Blue cloth decoratively stamped in gilt and black. Illustrations in b&w throughout. Spine ends a bit rubbed, corners less so, front hinge mended, else a clean, surprisingly bright copy.

1899 printing, still retaining the original ornate stamped binding design. Twain’s classic tale of a young trickster and his boyish pranks wonderfully laced with Twain’s poignant observations about human nature and the American character. This stunningly bright copy would be a treat for any admirer of Twain’s definitive novel of nineteenth century American boyhood!

Sebastian M. ★★★★★

The blue cloth cover with its gilt and black stamping arrived in far better condition than I expected for a book from 1899. It's a lovely piece of history for any Twain fan.

Sebastian ★★★★★

The blue cloth cover with its gilt and black stamping looks even better in person than in the pictures. The b&w illustrations inside really bring the old story to life, and the spine is still tight for a 1899 edition.

Miles B. ★★★★☆

The blue cloth cover with its gold and black stamping looks even better in person than in the photos. My only tiny complaint is that the spine could be a bit tighter after 125 years, but the interior pages are remarkably clean and the binding feels solid.
