Twelve-year-old Artemis is a millionaire, a genius, and a criminal mastermind. When Artemis discovers that fairies - yes, fairies - have a hidden society beneath the Earth's crust, he embarks on a dangerous plan to kidnap one and hold them ransom for their fairy gold.
Armed with a castle full of advanced technology that he himself invented, and accompanied by his devoted bodyguard Butler, Artemis is convinced that he's got the best of the fairy folk. But when he kidnaps Captain Holly Short, an officer in the elite LEPrecon police force, Artemis may have met his match...
Can the boy genius survive to plot another day? Will he start a cross-species war? Will he learn which end of a dwarf is the most dangerous?
